ElectraNet owns and operates the regulated electricity transmission network throughout South Australia. ElectraNet's transmission network consists of a high-capacity 275kV main grid that links generation sources (including interstate interconnectors) to the major load centres such as Adelaide, while the lower capacity 132 kV system provide supply to regional centres.

ElectraNet maintains 95 substations and 5,600km of high-voltage, large-capacity connections between generators and the local distribution network, which ultimately delivers the electricity to end users.

ElectraNet’s principal business is regulated by the Australian Energy Regulator (AER). ElectraNet has a long-term lease over its assets expiring in 2200.
